DESCRIBE ONLINE

Overview

The opening of the Northern Concourse has introduced lift access between the Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Victoria lines, lift access to/from the Northern Line is via the Tube Concourse.

As our stairs/escalator changes are based around the near ends of the platforms, we see no need to change these. This page has therefore only been changed to include the lift access routes to/from the Northern Line.

From Which Platform?

From the Metropolitan Line, Platforms 1 and 2
From the Victoria Line, Platforms 3 and 4
From the piccadilly Line, Platforms 5 and 6
From the Northern Line, Platforms 7 and 8

From the Metropolitan Line, Platforms 1 and 2

The doors open on your right as you face the front of the train, there's tactile paving along the edge of these platforms.

Our stairs/escalator route takes you beyond the east end of the platform, via the former exit, where we turn left toward Level -2 of the Tube Concourse.

Our lift routes take us to Level -1 in the Western Concourse.

For the Piccadilly and Victoria lines, we go through the Tube and Northern concourses at Level -1, to the lift to Level -2 and from there to platform level, Level -3 of the relevant line.

For the Northern Line, we take the lift to Level -2 in the Tube Concourse then take the lift to platform level, Level -3.

For the southbound, platform 4, go past the passage towards the Piccadilly and Northern Lines then go through the next gap on your left, onto the platform, you're near the front of the train.

For the northbound, platform 3, go through the third (last) gap on your right onto the platform, you're near the rear of the train. Note, I seem to recall that the first gap is at or slightly before the rear of the train, you're certainly at the west end of the platform.

GO TO END

To the Piccadilly Line, Platforms 5 and 6

Continue forward to the other side of the concourse and turn right to the left-hand set of escalators, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need, descend to platform level.

To the Metropolitan Line, Platforms 1 - 2

Move slightly left, to the foot of the steps from street level, then continue, up the slope, past the passage from the Euston Road North entrance. The gate line is on your left, after a few metres. There's a manual gate at the near end and the entrance gates are beyond this. Go through the gates.

Continue to the wall in front of you, turn right and continue to Lift F, to Level -2, in front of you, at the end of a short passage. Go to Level -2 and leave via the other doors.

Continue forward, through the fire doors. Turn left for platform 1 westbound, you're near the front of the train. Turn right for platform 2 eastbound, you're near the rear.

GO TO END

To the Victoria Line, Platforms 3 - 4

Turn right, follow the passage, between the ticket sales windows on your left and the steps down to Level -2 on your right then veer left into the Level -1 passage.

Continue, up a ramp, through the fire doors then down a series of ramps, into the Northern Concourse. Turn left (180 degrees) for the gate line. The left-hand gates are normally the ones you need, go through the gates.

The escalators are in front of you and the passage to Lift H, to Level -2 is to your right of these. You therefore need to go to the far right-hand corner of this space, whichever way you do this, you're likely to cut across traffic, so I suggest you move forward about ten metres and turn right. Ideally you're now facing the wall to your left of the exit gates. Continue to the wall then turn left and continue to the lift, which is at the end of the short passage.

Go down to Level -2, leave via the other doors, continue forward a few metres then take the turning left. Follow the passage till you reach the area at the top of the escalators to the Piccadilly Line.

Continue, following the passage which veers left then right before crossing the tracks of the Victoria Line. The turning left gives stairs-only access to the platform, whilst the turning right includes Lift K, to the Victoria Line, beyond the top of the stairs. turn right and continue along the short passage to the lift, go down to Level -3, Victoria Line level then leave via the other doors. You're in the second passage from the end of the platform, behind you. Turn left for platform 3 northbound, you're near the front of the train. Turn right for platform 4 southbound, you're near the rear.

GO TO END
