THE LANDINGS

DESCRIBE ONLINE

The Yoker Landing

This is a fenced half circle with a shelter in the northwest sector. This area can be cluttered with debris washed in by the river. A clear-ish path is maintained between the entrance and the middle of the slipway where the boat arrives. The ground slopes gently down to the south into the river. There’s no drop and the bow of the boat is thrust up onto the slipway. This can be readily located either by ear or with suitable use of a dog or cane. There’s a rail to either side of the bow which is lowered onto the slip way.

The Renfrew Landing

Beware the swans!

This is a rectangular cobbled area between the river and the street. There’s an old jetty on the east side and a wall on the west.

The ground slopes gently down to the north, towards the river. There’s no drop and the bow of the boat is thrust up onto the slipway. This can be readily located either by ear or with suitable use of a dog or cane. There’s a rail to either side of the bow which is lowered onto the slip way.

A fence, with a gate in the middle, runs along the south side. There’s a shelter, about three metres north of the gate.
