Describe Online has published an online guide to Yoker Station.
We turn right along Mill Road and continue to Dumbarton Road where we turn left. On reaching the next set of traffic lights, we turn right into Yoker Ferry Road which leads us to the landing.
You can leave Yoker Station via the ramp from platform 1, or via the bridge from either platform onto Mill Road. You can also leave platform 2 and follow Yokerburn Terrace onto Mill Road.
From the station exit you use, turn right and continue along the west side of Mill Road. Beyond Yokerburn Terrace, continue (south) across Clydeholm Terrace, past the bus shelter, onto Dumbarton Road.
This is a traffic light controlled crossing with a sounder.
The push button is to your right as you cross in either direction, there was no rotating cone or tactile paving at the time of our survey.
The crossing is a few metres east of Mill Road. There’s tactile paving at each side of Dumbarton Road and on the central island. The push button, with rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction. There’s also a button to each side of the island, we assume that the right-hand one is the one you use. Since both lanes of traffic are halted simultaneously, this could be treated as a single stage crossing.
The crossing is a few metres west of Mill Road. There’s tactile paving at each side of Dumbarton Road and on the central island. The push button, with rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction. There’s also a button to each side of the island, we assume that the right-hand one is the one you use. Since both lanes of traffic are halted simultaneously, this could be treated as a single stage crossing.
As we continue east along the north side of Dumbarton Road we cross the bus and taxi lane from Mill Road before we reach bus stop 6090443.
We reach a second bus stop with shelter set back from the kerb, number 6090442, with post then bin to your right followed by the shelter to your left. This serves the same buses as the first stop mentioned above.
We cross Hawick Street, with no pedestrian crossing, then a significant slope up from the east side. Beyond this is a crossing of Dumbarton Road, a single stage crossing with tactile paving and sounder. The post with push button but no rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction.
We cross Coldingham Ave., then Tweedvale Ave., with no pedestrian controlled crossings, before we reach Bus Stop 6090440, with post then shelter to your right, serving the buses named above.
Beyond this third bus stop is the crossing we take into Yoker Ferry Road.
This junction is controlled by traffic lights and sounder, with rotating cones at all crossings. There’s tactile paving at each side of each crossing.
The post with push button is to your right as you cross in either direction. The rotating cones serving this arm of the junction were damaged at the time of our survey.
The posts with push buttons are to the north of the crossing, on your left as you cross towards the east, right as you cross west.

You follow a wall, then afence on the right-hand side of the pavement before you cross the entrance to what was a building site at the time of our survey. Cross this entrance then follow the kerb to locate a post, which is opposite the Yoker Landing, cross the road here, locate the fence to your right then follow the north side of this to find the entrance to the landing.
We understand that the buses travel along Barnes Street before turning right into Mill Road then left into Dumbarton Road. The nearest bus stop we found to Yoker Station, towards the Ferry is in Dumbarton Road, just beyond the up kerb from the bus lane from Mill Road.

We need to get off at the second stop - just before Kelso Street.
Get off the bus, turn right and continue to the traffic lights, after a few metres.

Cross the west arm of this junction, Dumbarton Road and continue into Yoker Ferry Road. The post with push button is to your right as you cross in either direction. The rotating cones serving this arm of the junction were damaged at the time of our survey.
You follow a wall, then afence on the right-hand side of the pavement before you cross the entrance to what was a building site at the time of our survey. Cross this entrance then follow the kerb to locate a post, which is opposite the Yoker Landing, cross the road here, locate the fence to your right then follow the north side of this to find the entrance to the landing.
Unlike the Yoker side, where the station provides a good focus for our routes, there isn't the same provision on the Renfrew side of the river. The road network offers options to reach the Braehead Retail Park and Renfrew town centre, both of which lie beyond the scope of this survey.
Clyde Street follows the river, running west from the gate of the Renfrew Landing, whilst Ferry Road runs south from here. As you move east on Clyde Street, locate the fence of the landing to your left and find the entrance. As you step off the kerb, the Ferry is to your left whilst the road curves to your right to become Ferry Road.
As the eastern portion of the corner can be obstructed by vehicles, we recommend that you approach the Ferry from the west side of Ferry Road, cross Clyde Street, locate the railings in front of you then move right to locate the entrance to the landing.
You locate bus stop 614087, about 30 metres from the corner.
Cross London Street, with no pedestrian controlled crossing.
Cross Meadowside Street, opposite Braehead Road. This road was marked as closed at the time of our survey, though there was a pedestrian controlled crossing, with push button and rotating cone to your right as you cross in either direction.
You pass a sign across the pavement with a post on each side, then cross Campbell Street, with no pedestrian controlled crossing.
Locate Bus Stop 614086, before crossing Orchard Street. This is a wide crossing with no pedestrian control. Beyond this is Bus Stop 614085, which marks the limit of our survey.
As you move away from the corner, which can be obstructed by vehicles, you reach the pavement which runs beside the fence on the left-hand side. There's a bus stop with shelter, no. 614089, about 40 metres from the corner. The fence continues beyond the shelter, you cross an entrance, not for public access.
The pavement is tree lined along the kerb side. As you continue south, you pass:
The sign indicates town centre straight ahead, Braehead to the left and road closed to the right.
Beyond this sign is tactile paving indicating a crossing of Ferry Road.
There is tactile paving and push buttons with rotating cones at all crossings. The post is to your right as you cross in either direction at each crossing.
A few metres beyond the junction is Bus Stop 61401090, which marks the limit of our survey.
The pavement has a grass verge to each side. After a few metres, you'll locate Bus Stop 61401098 on your left.
Beyond this, tactile paving indicates the crossing of Braehead Road, the crossing has rotating cones and the post is to your right as you cross in either direction. This preceeds the junction between Braehead Road (east/west) and a road leading north into what was a building site at the time of our survey.
The crossing of this road had a post with rotating cone to each side and either end of the crossing. The junction is followed by another crossing of Braehead Road with post and cone to each side.
Beyond this junction, is Bus Stop 61401079, which marks the limit of our survey.
